EMILY SPENCE/KNOXVILLE NEWS SENTINEL – Thursday, December 11, 2008 In her studio, Zophia Kneiss uses a MIG welder to fuse together one of the many metal angel figurines she is making for the holidays. Kneiss is a metal artist who won a $50,000 commission from the Children’s Theatre of Nashville for their signature dragon sculpture installed in front of the new theater. She’s a farrier by trade. She has had a group show in the Emporium and one of her pieces was in the Dogwood public art exhibit in April 2008.

EMILY SPENCE/KNOXVILLE NEWS SENTINEL – Tuesday, December 9, 2008 Crystal Wagner, 26, is the first Betsey Worden Artist in Residence of the Arts and Culture alliance. She creates large three-dimensional pieces of art out of various materials, mostly paper products.

EMILY SPENCE/KNOXVILLE NEWS SENTINEL – Friday, November 28, 2008 Brant Cutler, 7, plays with his action figures while his family spends time together. Brant has autism, and his mother Shani Cutler, center, believes that while childhood vaccinations do not cause autism, certain medicines can aggravate those conditions in children who are already predisposed. Hannah Turner, 12, Cutler’s other child, right, has ADHD, which Cutler believes could be linked to autism.

Engagement photo for Joel Smith & Jessica Comer, some of the best people I know. We were going for highly conceptual and very “them.” I’m really happy with how this turned out and the best thing is, they love it, too.

This is one of the stranger pictures I’ve taken in a while. I was driving around looking for a picture and this is one that I found. I decided to get on a road called 33 S and drive. I randomly found this bird statue on the side of the road in front of some industrial park or something that was totally unrelated and there was no explanation of the massive bird. Crazy.

Comas is with the East Tennessee Women Veterans Network and Adams-Johnson is with the Clarksville Women Veterans Network and has been retired from service with the 101st aviation group for 10 years.
